Pistons

Ok after I got the top end I need pistons ,since the pan' cylinders had been bored out to the max we could get any new pistons so they were basically junk, but I had a set of pistons that i took out of a an old 80" shovel so I had the machine shop make the pistons fit , we figured it was a $50 gamble I had nothing to loose.

with a little help from an adapt o kit

I always liked ding the strange and odd thinks working with what you have, I have had a knack fo coming up with ideas and i was blessed to have a friend who had the tool and know how for us to complete are task, I had several parts for Harley Engine the next few post I will be describing these step by step I started out with a 1097 74" bottom end that I found in a basement up Indiana it was complete minus the top end, so we put it in the wash tank and cleaned it up the rods felt good so we just cleaned lubed it up and this was the beginning of a cool little project, stay tuned for more.

Starting my first project

I had 3 Harley's prior to this an old Shovel head and a softail custom and a Electra Glide Classic, I love the dependability out of the EVO motor but I liked the styling of the old pans and shovels,so I decided to build me the best of both worlds I will posting pic's and descriptions of what I have done
